The hard rock band Enemies Swe care creating quite a buzz here in Sweden and their single "Enemy", which was released in May this year, has been played on national TV and radio stations. Now it is time for them to learn how to fly for real with the release of their debut album "Behind Enemy Lines". The eleven tracks that fill up this compact disc are all pretty similar, built up on dirty gasoline smelling hard rock riffs and ultra-heavy guitar grooves. "Enemy" is for sure the song which has the most sing along friendly chorus, which is the easy to spot characteristic that the fifteen minutes of fame people at radio and TV stations are looking for. It is far from the best song found on the album though as you grow tired of that chorus very quickly. But don't worry, this is an album that will last because the rest of the songs are heavy and intense songs that will make every fan of AC/DC, Hellacopters, Backyard Babies, Motörhead, Guns 'N Roses and Mustasch fall in love with Enemies Swe right away. If hard rock is your thing you could not possibly be disappointed with this release and that is the truth coming from my heart. I have to admit that it is not that original but extremely well crafted with careful hands. I truely wish these young musicians success in the future because they deserve it. Sweden now has another worthy rock band to show the world. Enemies Swe rocks, it's as simple as that.
Interesting note: The band's drummer Marco Siila was part of the well-known Swedish pop band Friends (created through a TV documentary soap contest) but the band decided to appear in the Swedish try-outs for the Eurovision song contest without him and therefore he left and ended up in a much nicer place in my opinion.
