REVIEW: Enter My Silence - Coordinate: D1SA5T3R JMT-Music, 2006
7/10
Enter My Silence - Coordinate: D1SA5T3R - cover art Enter My Silence’s second album ‘Coordinate: D1SA5T3R’ is the Finnish band’s second full-length album. Though it really depends what you consider full-length, as this album has a running time of just over 35 minutes, half of what a CD can hold. The first song immediately sets the tone for the rest of the album. Fast riffs, decent melodies and heavy growling. Not much new to for the melodic-death scene yet. The next song ‘Spin’ might change that a bit. Heavy riffs changing patterns with short clean pieces and great keyboard melodies. ‘For A Place of the Sun’ reminds me a bit of In Flames, though a little less up a tempo, and the cleaner vocals are missing, but not bad at all. The solo of this song is very good, and perfectly finishes off the composition. The titlesong is definitely the best song on the album, with sublime melodies. Unfortunately I haven’t heard much variety to the already existing melodic-death metal scene, though Enter My Silence do not make a shame of themselves by their music in the vein of the other (perhaps bigger) melodic-death bands. They know how to write good songs, and with ‘Coordinate: D1SA5T3R’ they have produced a very decent album, though not very exceptional.
