REVIEW: Eriaminell - Enraged Nocturnal Music, 2003
6/10
Eriaminell - Enraged - cover art From Florence, Italy, hails the band now known as Eriaminell. The band was formed in 1996 but has gone under the monickers Atomic Chaos and Ghoulvault before finally settling with Eriaminell. The debut album from these guys comes along with a short text in the booklet where the former Nocturnus bassist / vocalist Emo Mowery praises the band. In particular he points out the inhuman vocals by Lugdush which is one of the most protruding characteristics of this band. It is impossible to describe the way he sounds and I have never heard anything like this before. Musically Eriaminell are mainly inspired by the Florida death metal scene it seems but there is a strong black metal atmosphere surrounding this album as well. The music is intense, technical, chaotic and fast most of the time with very little time to breathe. Accompanying the furious drums and shredding guitars, band member Vuall contributes with his synth and programming skills to lay a nice haunting background. If you think you would enjoy crazy, spaced-out and raging black / death metal that doesn't sound like your average release then you might want to give these Italians a chance. They know what they're doing but it's a little too unstructured for my taste.
