Already third album for Eternal Oath. Very interesting combination of hard-hitting Death Metal, massive keyboards including classical piano sounds, growling vocals and personal (not to say emotional) lyrics. All 12 songs are done in the same manner and they are done very well. Maybe Eternal Oath should be the example that it’s possible to blend together seemingly opposite tendencies, as brutality of DM and the emotional aspect and more gentle music/atmospheres. I was surprised that they could go well together, but here’s a proof. Still, there are some parts where this is classical European brutal Death Metal on the contrary to most of the material. So, the guys obviously know both sides of the coin. I also liked the way songs are put together from riffs, very interesting and keeps you amused. Only maybe not in parts with male choirs, that sounded a little bit cheesy, but the rest is ok. The production is powerful and the guitars really kick ass, everything is crystal clear, but still rocking. So, if you’re not out there only for mindless brutality consider this.
