REVIEW: Experimental Blue - Aggression Depression Addiction Self-financed, 2001
6.5/10
Experimental Blue - Aggression Depression Addiction - cover art From Massachusetts, USA, hails a new industrial project entitled Experimental Blue. Experimental is the least you can say about this album which is full of electronic noise, everyday sounds transformed into weird synth lines and tormented buried vocals. The man behind this project is a performance artist from Boston who has been working under this moniker since 1997. If you mix together Ministry and NIN you kind of get the picture of the Experimental Blue sound but notice that this is no copycat. The overall sound is a little messy, chaotic and even raw at times but as a NIN fan you probably know how to appreciate this kind of disturbing music. Experimental Blue is still only a studio project but he has set a deadline for the summer of 2002 to begin playing live multimedia shows full of horror and chaos. This guy has got a very interesting thing going on and although most of the songs on this album are around or slightly above the average mark one can't help being impressed by the greatness of "Nothing Is A Thrill Anymore", an industrial masterpiece that will blow your mind.
