REVIEW: Fallen Angels - Fall From Heaven Self-financed, 2003
6.5/10
Fallen Angels - Fall From Heaven - cover art The album is as colorful as the cover as it provides a rainbow assortment of vocals, riffs, drumwork, keys, solos, and samples. Upbeat and melodic, “Fall From Heaven” never slows down with its endless burst of energy. Black and death vocals take turn, guitar and keys exercise a wide array of chords, drums keep up alongside them, and the result is a garbage pizza of “extreme”, keyboard-driven heavy metal. Among the four songs are many goodies, though they are presented in a fashion that is too bubbly for my taste. In fact it is probably too colorful for most people as there is just too much going on. It wouldn’t hurt to tone things down. There are a few parts where the drums lag behind, but that seems to be accepted nowadays anyway. Judging from the artwork, they seem to be fans of magic and dragons. Fans of this, keyboards and hair metal may want to check this out.
