Faust is an Italian 4 piece Death Metal band. This is their first release consisting of four tracks and some 12 minutes in length. Basically this is a nice attempt to play a technical version of classical DM, Florida style. All of the songs are good, well played and well composed. Also, the music is enjoyable, you can get hooked-on very easily, if you love this (sub-)genre. It has intensity but it is not lacking of subtle elements and guitar ornaments. Brutality is also here, not in the vein of Malevolent Creation, of course, but still it is here. So, basically all the ingredients are here, intense parts, melodic ones, good playing and composing, nice production. Since I am reviewing a 4 song MCD downloaded from internet (no cover this way) it’s hard to say a lot more about ‘… And Finally Faust’ but it looks very promising. If they would add just a little more of their own style on the next release we could expect something really good, worth global attention.
