REVIEW: Final Conclusion - Element 87 Casket Music, 2002
6.5/10
Final Conclusion - Element 87 - cover art Very much potential but needs a lot of work. That's MY final conclusion. Although the guys have good ideas on how they could make this band work, the thing is that they still need very much to make it good. Production isn't at all bad, but it's not too good either. Studio work might be like it is because of lack of funds and stuff, but that still doesn't make up for the way the band sounds. The Final Conclusion music is still very incomplete in my opinion, missing a lot of action, kick and grip. As I've mentioned earlier, they do sometimes catch the attention, but the soaring melodies don't really work in this case (not the way they are here anyway). I'm not saying that they are totally strange to the music itself, I'm just suggesting that in order to have real power something HAS to change. The songs need a little spicing too. The drums kick an interesting rhythm, but they tend to get boring really fast, and they don't work with the guitars all the time. One more problem: the three songs included on the CD, "Butterflies", "Diesel" and "Lesson Learned", kind of sound the same. Don't really understand the lyrics, but I didn't have it in me to listen to it as many times as necessary for that to happen. Songs get really boring at about the second listen. Work this over guys, that's all the advice I can really give. "Element 87" is not as good as it could be with a couple of more studio sessions. Polishing is little to say, because there's still work to be done on these songs (maybe a little recomposing) before they could touch the heart or soul of anyone. Again: very much potential but still need work.
