The growing interest for metal as a whole has resulted in a return to basics trend among the veteran bands but it has also turned people's interest towards retro bands who are trying to capture the magic of the past. One of these is the Dutch thrash metal band Flesh Made Sin who have recorded a couple of self-financed mini albums before signing a deal with Karmageddon Media. Their debut album shows no radical shift musically speaking but follows the same concept of retro European thrash in the same vein as Destruction and Kreator but with a modern, clean and powerful production. Being familiar with the band's self-financed recordings I have seen the band grow tighter but unfortunately the song writing has not improved hand in hand with the instrumental coordination. While their latest EP "Masterwork In Blood" had a couple of memorable songs, this debut album shows an overall more even standard but no real highs or lows which makes it more or less float by. It is enjoyable but you part with it without any strong memories. Flesh Made Sin is more of a live band I believe and on the stage is where they belong. A decent debut though.
