Although the first mini
album from the Dutch band Flesh Made Sin was pretty good it did not help them
get a decent record deal. Instead they decided to enter the Harrow Studios
(Asphyx, Occult) once again and release a new album on their own label
Thrashing Hell Records. Things are however starting to happen now for this
young band since they will soon go on a mini tour together with Dismember and
Callenish Circle. The band have not changed musical direction since their last
recording. Yet again we are taken back to the mid and late 80's when the
first German thrash metal bands Destruction, Kreator and Sodom were showing
the way for hundreds of other bands to come. Similarities to all of these
bands can be traced in the music of Flesh Made Sin although their vocals are a
little similar, bordering on death metal and showing a little bit of a Morbid
Angel touch. This gives the band a slightly more brutal edge than the average
old-school thrash metal band. All songs are fast-paced and built mostly around
classic thrash riffs and this is perhaps one of the reasons why the band is
finding it hard to get a decent record deal. If this is going to happen they
will have to write more interesting songs in the future. They have however
improved a little when it comes to song writing when you compare this with
their first effort. They have also grown tighter and more of a full fledged
band which altogether makes for a promising time to come for the band. If you
are into raw and well executed old-school thrash metal then Flesh Made Sin
might be a name to remember. The Carcassy samples also work well. A young band
that should be able to produce something for many to enjoy if a label gives
them the chance. Stand-out tracks: "Taste The Knife", "Slicing The
Throat".
