REVIEW: Flesh Made Sin - Scenery Of Death Self-financed, 2000
6.5/10
Flesh Made Sin - Scenery Of Death - cover art Flesh Made Sin is a Dutch band that was formed in 1999 by two underground musicians who decided that it was time to reawaken the classic thrash metal that Kreator, Destruction and Slayer brought forth in the 80's. Last year this demo was recorded and the band became third among 400 bands in a metal contest arranged by the well-known Dutch metal magazine Aardschok. Flesh Made Sin have over the short time span of their existence developed their own very aggressive and brutal take on thrash metal and when I tell you that they have played live shows together with bands like The Haunted, God Dethroned and Darkane you probably get an idea of what they sound like. They are doing their thing pretty well and especially the final track of this demo cd has some very nice crushing metal riffs made to kill. The band is currently working on a full-length album and is also looking for a record deal. I wouldn't be surprised if they found a label real soon because this demo shows a band that knows how to make thrash metal in the old vein, brutal but still enjoyable. Even though the production isn't perfect the sound is amazingly good for being a self-financed demo recording. Flesh Made Sin have a long hard road ahead of them but this is a nice solid way to begin the walk.
