I'm sure many of you are familiar with this band that's been rocking the European scene in the past few years. Fony is a product of very good musical concept, innovation and attitude. An experimental, compact, semi-aggressive nu-metal sound spiced with lots of originality is what you're sure to get from this quintet. They have been lucky enough to have their innovative ideas and talent noticed in time, thus allowing them to make a name for themselves (that's basically the goal of every band ever founded). Olly Gibbons (vocals) really pushes his barriers here as he shows a lot of improvement since Fony's previous release. Very good tubes - just amazing. Music is very nice all through the record. Experimental but still not lacking heart - that's a very big plus from me. Can't understand how this genre is capable of becoming this powerful. Lots of classic influences distorted beyond recognition, lots of ideas ripped right from the music of the future, Fony is no doubt one of the best things that happened to the modern metal scene. No matter what genre of music you're used to listening to, this band is bound to thrill you (if you aren't addicted to hearing a certain kind of sound every time, I mean - no die-hard death metallers are going to give this baby a chance, but I recommend it to all who ever liked music in its every form - because this IS music). I bet no one would have thought that a band of this genre would ever get such a high grade on this zine, but the reality is that I haven't been so impressed since I've heard Tool for the first time. Music just doesn't get much better than this.
