REVIEW: Frame - A Loco Motive (EP) Self-financed, 2002
7/10
Frame - A Loco Motive (EP) - cover art Even though there are so many good Swedish metal bands signed to labels all over the world there are obviously still some great bands left to discover. Frame is a band who hails bands and musicians like Freak Kitchen, Frank Zappa, The Hellacopters and Zakk Wylde. They are from Gothenburg themselves and are by the sound of this demo influenced by The Hellacopters but leaning a little more towards the American southern rock sound with raw powerful vocals by a giant singer. They are also a little heavier than most of their Swedish colleagues. Perhaps they have also drawn some inspiration from the Swedish stoner rock scene which has been growing very strong during the last couple of years with bands like Spiritual Beggars, The Mushroom River Band, The Quill, Misdemeanor and others. If this is your type of music I would definitely recommend Frame to you because they are, if not amazing nor groundbreaking, so at least a very good band who knows exactly what they are doing and put a lot of energy and hard work into it. It all pays off in the end and the result is highly impressive for a demo recording.
