The German band Frontline has been around since 1989 and have gone through several member changes since then. Their release "Circles" reminds me of typical 80s hardrock bands, though clad in modern clothes. Production and sound are well done and the guys know how to make music. Stephan Kämmerer is a very talented singer, with his clean and powerful voice he pushes the songs. No doubt, this is professional work, powerful, diversified, melodic and clean. Sometimes a little bit too clean for me. Although I like listening to the songs there are none that really stick out, except "I give you the rest". As far as I know the statements of other reviewers have mostly been (very) good, and sure, there is nothing wrong with "Circles". Very melodic, production, song writing, sound, vocals, guitars, drums….. all perfect.
Nevertheless: A highlight is missing, a certain kind of feeling, anything that makes "Circles" distinctive.
If you are into melodic hard rock in the vein of the 80s then this is something for you.
