REVIEW: Graham Bonnet - The Day I Went Mad Escape Music, 2001
0/10
Graham Bonnet - The Day I Went Mad - cover art Well respected vocalist Graham Bonnet has provided his talents for classic hard rock albums like "Down To Earth" by Richie Blackmore's Rainbow, "Assault Attack" by The Michael Schenker Group, "No Parole From Rock'n'Roll" by Alcatrazz (Yngwie Malmsteen on guitar) and "Disturbing The Peace" by Alcatrazz (Steve Vai on guitar). As you can tell by the above-mentioned list the guy has worked with some of the very top guitar players of all time! For this new solo album, "The Day I Went Mad," Graham (or his record label) has invited many different musicians to play in this album, some of them quite well known as well, but not in the exact same league as the musicians that I have mentioned before. Every musician is doing a very good job in this album that has it's moments but is not overly too exciting. Also, even though I am one of the people who really appreciate stylistic diversity, it is possible that not all listeners will like the mix of heavier and poppier sensibilities. My personal favoured song is "Spiked!", song number 10 (there are 11 in total), which is by far the heaviest and fastest song and it's the 10th out of the 11 songs on offer.
