REVIEW: Hagalaz' Runedance - "Urd - That Which Was" (EP) Well Of Urd, 1999
8.5/10
Hagalaz' Runedance - Hagalaz' Runedance is the solo project from Andrea Meyer Haugen who is perhaps most known for her vocals on the debut album from Cradle Of Filth and for being married to Samoth of Emperor. She has however also been creating herself in several different ways. She has previously been active in the ambient projects Aghast and Nacht but today she concentrates on writing pagan literature, performing Viking show-fighting and holding pagan workshops but above all she composes wonderful pagan music through Hagalaz' Runedance. This EP is perhaps not the best way to get to know her music since it only features two new tracks and three dance remixes of older songs. However, this album features two of the best songs she has ever made and they alone are almost good enough reason for purchasing this album. Those two tracks are "Behold The Passionate Ways Of Nature" and "The Falcon Flies". The rest of the album is of course very good too and if you are looking for originality and creativity in a band then Hagalaz' Runedance is for you. There is no other band on this Earth that sounds like this and I'm very glad that she keeps the pagan spirit alive through these amazing tunes. Wake Skadi!

Note: this was a limited edition EP and it is supposedly no longer available (although I was able to buy a copy a year ago or something like that...).
