Apart for appearing on the debut album from
Cradle Of Filth, Andrea Meyer (who by the way is married to Samoth of the
Norwegian black metal band Emperor) is the woman behind the
ritual-ambient-pagan-something project known as Hagalaz' Runedance. This is
just a pre-listen sampler for the new album "Volven" but judging from this
song she has improved her singing notably since last time and the musical
content also seems more dynamic and interesting. If you're a shaman or just
in love with Mother Earth and/or Nordic mythology then this is a unique
quality band worthy of your attention. Since I haven't heard more than one
song I can't really tell that much about the overall sound of the new album
but things are looking good. Even though it might seem a bit stupid rating
this sampler I have decided to do so. One thing stands clear as winter ice:
there is no other band like Hagalaz' Runedance on this planet but there will
probably be clones popping up in the near future, some better, some worse than
the original.
