REVIEW: Heirs To A Vacant Throne - Miasma Self-financed, 2006
4/10
Heirs To A Vacant Throne - Miasma - cover art The Heirs To A Vacant Throne certainly aim for the stars. Their self released demo MIASMA is four tracks of hard rock with a touch of metal. However this is not a wise choice of sound if you want to do something ground-breaking. It is almost impossible to do anything in this genre that doesn’t feel like a rip off since there have been so many bands before trying the same thing. Despite this, the band succeeds quite well on the opening track “Winston” which is an ok rock song. I’m sorry to say that it never gets any better than ok, in fact the following tracks are dull and just repeat the same old riffs that we have heard in many songs before. The Heirs To A Vacant Throne falls into the same pit as so many before them. Given some time maybe the band will develop their music and find a sound that suites them but on MIASMA they are too plain and too boring.
