This Greek band brings a lot of anticipation to the listener through the EP from 2002. On the back cover they list such things as being winner of Best Greek Band 2001 (Metal Hammer GR) and Best Deathcore Band 2001 (Stranger Aeons USA). This is for better and for worse. I was quite thrilled to hear this EP and to start with it sounds perfectly okay. The song "Protection Through Surveillance" is a solid track, quite rough in the production but not in a way that brings the song down. The musical performance is tight and the vocals are powerful and to the spot. Following that song is a cover of Sepultura's "Roots Bloody Roots", a funny and different cover at first but in no way following the bands style which takes the sting out of it slighty. Fun and games nevertheless. From there, it just goes downhill. The two remaining songs "Tomahawk Cruise Messiah" and "Homo Sapiens?" are two somgs that need to be taken back to the rehearsal room, torn to shreds and rebuilt. A handfull of the riffs are okay but the composition is just laughable. Were they under extreme time preasure when writing this material. As if that wasn't bad enough, the production of the vocals here are one of the worst examples of soundengineering I have encountered. The vocals are low, muffled and drowned in effects making them impossible to make out. I really hope that this band shapes up and sorts their act out before the release of their next album since they show such great potential on the first track of the promo.
