REVIEW: Immemorial - Monologue Conquer Records, 2001
7/10
Immemorial - Monologue - cover art Conquer Records is coming to appear to me as a label that knows how to find quality death metal acts. Immemorial is yet another Polish band but they stand out more than many others as a very brutal but still melodic and groovy act. This album isn't exactly the longest one available but 38 minutes is pretty normal for a fast death metal record and I think it is just about enough. Even though they are from Poland they have reached the level of professionalism where they can honor their music with a very good production. The metal scene of Eastern Europe has a lot to offer and I think it is just beginning to open up its doors. Poland has been a well-known country for extreme metal fans ever since Vader started out but nowadays bands from several other countries are beginning to get noticed by the "Western" labels like Rakoth (Russia) and Without Face (Hungary). This is a good thing and I'm glad that Immemorial have been noticed because they are a band comprised of some very highly skilled death metal musicians. The vocals are pretty well done as well although they are a little too monotonous sometimes. Other than that this is yet another death metal release of high quality coming from Polish ground.
