In Flames has been releasing music to the metal masses for
over 10 years now, starting in 1990 when guitarist Jesper Strömblad left
the band Ceremonial Oath to form In Flames. With the release of Lunar Strain
and Subterranean, Jesper tired of constantly borrowing musicians in bands from
Tiamat to Dark Tranquility and asked Björn Gelotte and Anders Fridén to join
the band on a permanent basis. Though there have been numerous line-up
changes, the foundation of the band stays the same and now has 8 albums under
their belt including a live CD from a Tokyo
performance.
