Argh, Fuck, Kill!! Those are the first words that come to mind when listening to "Berserk Artillery Barrage". Invasion starts the war, but don’t really convince me that they are a power to be reckoned with. They play thrashy death metal, which sounds like it was recorded back in 1989. Invasion is nothing new, while adding little to metal music. From the war pictures on the cover, or throughout the booklet, I figured that Invasion would be as intense as the images suggested. Not in the least. The vocals are interesting, reminding me partly of Iron Monkey’s vocalist Johnny Morrow (R.I.P.). Yet Invasion’s "Phlegm" isn’t in near as much agony as Johnny Morrow ever was. "Berserk Artillery Barrage" isn’t a complete waste of time, there are some songs worth a listen and a chorus or two that stick in your mind. I guess I had higher hopes with the album title. The production isn’t great, which sometimes is a good thing, giving the band's sound a raw feel, not here though. Every song pretty much sounds the same, and gets tiresome. Maybe if the songs were faster they would have made a stronger impression on me. "Sniperkrieg" is the stand-out track for me. "Berserk Artillery Barrage" isn’t bad, but not worth much more than these words.
