REVIEW: Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark EMI Records, 1992
9/10
Iron Maiden - Fear Of The Dark - cover art "Fear Of The Dark" is perhaps not THE best album from the band but it is still one of the best and it is after all the one and only Iron Maiden we are dealing with here, one of the best bands this world has seen so far. Great melodic metal, guitar riffs and slower power ballads from some of the best musicians there is to find on this Earth. If you haven't already got an Iron Maiden album this is perhaps the one to get if you want to explore the different sides of the band. There are no really bad songs on this recording, although some of them stick out from the rest, like "Afraid to shoot strangers", "Fear of the dark" and "Wasting love", some of the best songs I've ever heard. The guitar melodies on "Afraid to shoot strangers" are really great! The music is well accompanied by the fine vocals by Bruce Dickinson as always. Together with Metallica they are the biggest metal bands ever. This is not the best Iron Maiden album but it still makes most other bands seem pale in comparison. If your Maiden collection is not complete yet you have to start working on it.
