REVIEW: Isolated - Descent Of The Cross Self-financed, 2001
6.5/10
Isolated - Descent Of The Cross - cover art From Poland, death metal... Well, what can you say really, the Polish death metal scene is almost as over-crowded as the black metal scene is and has been in Norway for a decade or so. The thing is that while most of the bands aren't very original they still produce some high quality music and this is also the case with Isolated. This band has been around since 1994 in the city of Tychy. At first they were known under the name Bastion but as time passed by members came and went and they finally changed their name to Isolated. They have opened up shows for well-known acts such as Vader, Yattering and Sceptic and as you may have guessed they also sound very similar to these. Isolated is a more than capable band that should not have a problem attaining a record deal if they only put their mind to it. The only thing that could prevent this is that the labels may have had enough of Polish death metal but I don't think so and I wish them good luck in their quest for international fame. If you enjoy brutal death metal á la Suffocation and Vader then here is yet another quality Polish act to keep track of. The only problem I have with their music is that it gets a little bit monotonous in the end but that is the way I feel about most brutal death metal releases so... Otherwise their music is both Well played and well growled. The production is very good and clean for a demo band.
