REVIEW: Jennie Tebler - Silverwing Black Mark Production, 2005
7.5/10
Jennie Tebler - Silverwing - cover art Jennie Tebler is so far mostly known for having contributed guest vocals to several albums from Swedish gothic metallers Lake Of Tears. Now she releases her first solo material in the form of this two-track single. The music was written by the late Quorthon of Bathory and Jennie now decided to release it since she thought that was what he would have wanted. Reading through the booklet notes it becomes rather clear that these songs are released in memory of the legendary black metal pioneer. I have recently lost a loved one after a long relationship but I can only imagine what it feels like to have your soulmate taken away by death. "Silverwing" is a song built around a few simple metal riffs which support the dreamy and beautifully serene vocals from Tebler. Her voice sounds wonderful on this recording but unfortunately the instruments have been poorly produced which is a shame. Still, everyone who appreciates good vocalists and don't mind a gothic touch should definitely look up Jennie Tebler.
