REVIEW: Killamora - Demo 2006 self-financed, 2006
8/10
Killamora - Demo 2006 - cover art Killamora play a particularly venomous brand of Thrash-influenced Death Metal -- or izzat vice versa? On their 4-song demo from 2006 the 5-piece from Corpus Christi, TX really shred. This is a rather professional sounding demo EP that exhibits Killamora's chops and songwriting prowess. The production showcases all components of the band with ample clarity while not being over polished. Each song is in the 5-minute neighborhood but never overstays its welcome. As a whole, this is a worthy 20 minutes that should find its way onto the shelves of fans who enjoy Pissing Razors, another TX band who played a perhaps similar though less brutal overall style. You can even contact the band via their MySpace page to get a free copy of this smoldering slab of sickness. Nothing here is particularly new or inventive, no. This is simply a well done sampler that portends well for a band trying to make the jump from local to regional to perhaps national. Record labels take note.
