Well, here we go... If you think Kokain is a cool band name then wait until you hear the poetic lyrics to sing-along tunes like "Cum In Your Armpit" and "Abnormal Brain, Do Not Use". Crazy, sick, twisted and perverted are words suited for use here, good or bad, take it as you will. The band was formed in early Spring 2004 but this is already their second demo tape (the fist one entitled "Jesus Fistus"). Considering the non-existing complexity of their song writing it is not hard to understand that they wrote 15 songs in four weeks. There are a couple of girls in this band which is quite unusual and surprising when taking a closer look at the lyrics. Musically Kokain plays a mix of crust punk, grindcore and death metal. Cookie monster growls get together with grindcore shrieks and there are even some [less enjoyable to be nice] clean vocals.
Pre-adolescent and meaningless, provocative to some, lyrics like these make no impression whatsoever on anyone but ten year old children and their parents. If I say that the lyrics is the best thing about the band then you know where this is going. The songs are simple, straightforward pieces which makes no memory of it remain for more than a second or two. Grindcore freaks who do not give a rat's ass about originality or sound quality (especially the drums suck as they can often barely be heard) may find this demo interesting but otherwise I see no value in this for anyone but the band members themselves and maybe a few select friends. As Marilyn Manson once so beautifully put it, this is just a copy of an imitation and not a very good one.
