REVIEW: Kreator - Violent Revolution Steamhammer Records, 2001
9/10
Kreator - Violent Revolution - cover art What a relief this was. Kreator have finally returned to their old sound that once made them one of the top thrash metal bands in the world. "Endorama" might have been an ok album by ordinary standards but this is the way Kreator was meant to sound - hard, heavy and relentless music with good thrash vocals and amazing energetic riff sequences. While their last album was built more on melody and atmosphere, something that just didn't fit the Kreator sound, the new one is more riff based as we are used to hear the band. "Violent Revolution" is a very musically violent and intense album but it also has a lot of groove and in my opinion it is without a doubt one of the best releases ever from Kreator. Slayer may be the kings of thrash metal in the US but this is almost, if not just as good. It's great to see the three big German thrash metal bands Sodom, Kreator and Destruction back together again and we can now all start hoping for a bright metal future. Welcome back, Mille and Kreator!
