REVIEW: Law Of The Plague - The First Infection Demo (EP) Sinternational Records, 2001
6.5/10
Law Of The Plague - The First Infection Demo (EP) - cover art Law Of The Plague is a very new band from Virginia, USA, who are currently working on their first full length album but they have already recorded this so called demo cd which is made up of three songs. The band offers a very modern concoction of elements from diverse directions of metal such as death metal, nu-metal and thrash metal. Sometimes they sound like a mix of Morbid Angel, Static-X and Korn, at other times like a less industrialized version of Fear Factory with a pinch of older Rage Against The Machine (R.I.P., one of the best bands ever!). There isn't much doubt that these guys have been inspired by the leading bands of the MTV brigade of modern metal but I think they are unfortunately a little bit too extreme to gain the approval of the music "gurus" at MTV. Absolutely non-interesting lyrics with an overuse of the f-word but still some fairly enjoyable music that might very well appeal to fans of any of the aforementioned bands. It's hard to tell what's to come for the future by only hearing these three tracks but I'm positive that their full-length could become something to look out for.
