Very nicely done. Although not the most original band (but very state of the art nevertheless) Law Of The Plague managed to record an album that incorporates sounds and ideas from all areas of metal and thanks to the unique way this fact has been achieved, "The War Inside" album represents a very good performance. The guitars just don't seem to stop amazing you with their diversity and excitement, felt through the entire record. Sometimes thrashy, sometimes heavy, sometimes nu, these instruments have been given full potential. The vocals are also very diverse and good, sometimes captivating with growls and other times with all sorts of divers melodies. There's an absolutely beautiful work behind the drums, as they pound best just where they are needed, and just flop around where a simple rhytm is more than enough. Production and all studio work is very good and the songs are very well written also. There's enough power, excitement, and freshness on there that'll keep you listening no matter what. Actually, the music is so nicely done that you almost enjoy listening to the childishly naive aggression-lyrics. The message and attitude is not captivating or attractive in any way, and the cover is not at all exciting either, but the music makes up for it all, and then some... In spite of the dangerously diverse influences, the album manages to stay very compact and all pieces are kept nicely fit together as the big picture of the puzzle is revealed. This band either has a lot of experience in music or has had some very good guidance and assistance during the creation of this record, but it doesn't really matter, because what they have to show for it is quite a lot.
