The Legion strike two comes in the shape of "Revocation" and they have not put their guard down for one single second. Instead the black metal horde have geared up, losing zero in intensity and climbing up the ladder towards the highest level where leaders of the Swedish black metal scene such as Dark Funeral, Marduk and Naglfar already reside. The band's debut album "Unseen To Creation" (2003) was a welcome addition to the black metal scene with its technically precise and extremely intense blasting aggression. Whereas many other bands from the genre hide their lack of song writing and instrumental skills in a shade of "evil" and a "true grim sound", The Legion strive to improve themselves along the way without sacrificing the black essence that needeth to be. Light years ahead of lacklustre Darkthrone or Dimmu clones, they have dedicated themselves to performing their own music, working hard and purposefully on perfecting their own art instead of gazing sideways with envy at what others create. The years passed and the line-up changes have not made them lose focus nor caused a stylistic shift which I'm glad for. A solid and well balanced production puts the dot over the i to what is another fine album erupting from the Swedish extreme metal scene.
