REVIEW: Lobotomy - Holy Shit No Fashion Records, 2000
7/10
Lobotomy - Holy Shit - cover art As usual with No Fashion records you can expect high quality metal with very good production and this is luckily also what Lobotomy delivers. The "Holy Shit" MCD contains just over twenty minutes of very technical music from Stockholm, Sweden, mainly influenced by old school death metal with growling vocals somewhere between Gardenian and Dismember but there are also thrashier touches á la old Metallica and Megadeth. This is true aggressive metal of high class, not only heavy and uncompromising but also melodic and at some points even emotional although that is not the best Lobotomy trademark. Swedish death metal has opened a whole new world in music that will never grow old and Lobotomy is definitely one of the better acts around at the moment. This is a great way for No Fashion Records to finish the year 2000! The album was recorded at Sunlight Studio, Stockholm.
