REVIEW: Lugubre - Anti Human Black Metal Folter Records, 2004
7.5/10
Lugubre - Anti Human Black Metal - cover art Woohoo! Total Black Metal assault with lots of speed, darkness and definitely alcohol! Nine tracks in total, slightly over 25 minutes, enough at the end to deliver message of absolute misanthropy and urge for mankind destruction. The music is a bit primitive, reminds somewhat of Burzum, with its lingering malice and unpolished sound. There is a lot of guitar buzz as a result of constant speedy playing and high-pitched sound. Partly that’s thanx to production, too. The guys haven’t taken in much consideration downtuning it a little bit. The rest of the music follows guitars. Fast drums with more hearable cymbals than we are used to and screaming BM vocals at the top. Somewhat standard. The songs are short but get good one after other, so I am not noticing pauses between them that much. Also, the slower parts are well fit in their places, so all this speed and buzzing doesn’t annoy after some time. The CD is accompanied by an 8 page black and white booklet with lots of pictures and basic info on the recording. No lyrics are visible and that’s a pity since I always love to read poems that carry title like: "Decreasing Human Population", "Nuclear Counterstrike" and "Depopulate the World" to name a few. If you love primitive BM in vein of Burzum and Judas Isaariot you should consider buying this one.
