REVIEW: Machetazo - The Maggot Sessions Living Dead Society, 2005
9.5/10
Machetazo - The Maggot Sessions - cover art Machetazo simply put is raw grind that Repulsion would be amazed with. The bass player is faster than fuck. Playing rumbling rythmatic grindcore, in the old school style. The beast is present growling out horror filled images, while the guitar slices through the thick sound. The Maggot Sessions was recorded in the way it would have been for a live John Peel radio session, back in the late eighties. Six songs slaughter away crushing some heavy beats that pummel you into the wall. Only the strong will survive this piece of grindcore. Will you like it?? Fuck you’d better. Let it seep in, next you know an aneurysm will rip through your mind. The cover art is damn cool too. Drawn by Dennis DREAD. The back is the best with Jack Torrence (from the movie “The Shining”) holding the Axe!! To end this EP is a cover song of “Black Magic”, originally by Venom (as a Bonus Track, previously un-released). This EP was originally released through First Blood Family records, and now re-issued by “Living Dead Society” as the very first release from this new Spanish label.
