Carrying on the legacy of monumental heavy metal bands such as Accept and Manowar, Germany's trueists Majesty are equally loved and hated by various groups of metal fans worldwide. Their memorable melodies, pretentious guitar solos and sing-along choruses have been embraced by many followers of the old school while those having a hard time accepting grown up babies such as Manowar can not stand their lyrics and overall image. No matter where on the scale you place yourself, your opinion is not likely to change with the release of their latest creation "Hellforces". The clichés are never far from one another but despite the simplicity of the band that could be derived from a quick glance, neither the song writing nor the performance from each single band member are no subjects for complaint. The Stefan Kaufmann production adds a slight Accept feeling about the album as well which they will surely benefit from. It is unfortunate that Rolf Munkes parted ways with the band last month because his talents as a lead guitarist will be greatly missed in the future. This is most likely your last chance to hear him perform with the band. If you can ward off a laughter when hearing the word "true" being used in a metal context and don't mind song titles such as "Heavy Metal Desire" and "Metal Law 2006" then Majesty is for you. Despite the title "Dance With The Demon" is a great song and my favorite pick. Traditional, mid-paced and very melodic heavy metal.
