This is one of the most anticipated releases in the last few years in Serbian Metal community. Album has been announced long time ago, and now it’s here, majestic in its blasphemous grandeur. No, the words aren’t just for the sake of literacy, or in vain. This is definitely one of the best, if not the best album Serbian extreme Metal has ever produced. For previous two albums of May Result (at the very beginning of band it was May Result Blood) I could say they are good, very good, but maybe not my cup of tea exactly, yet with this release they remained true to themselves and succeeded to conquer my full attention.
The material contains eight songs plus two instrumentals at the beginning and end. All songs represent same thought with same musical and lyrical expression – Blasphemy. Music is made in best tradition of mid tempo Death/Black Metal, reminding, maybe, of Old Mans Child and similar acts. Yet, this is original material, with enjoyable guitar work, very interesting riffs and clever use of keyboards that are no nuisance here. Drums too are played on high level and contribute their share to the atmosphere on the album. Basically, the instruments are part of one bigger story, if you know what I mean. Songs may seem long, but to me they play without me checking time and awaiting the end. That would be another proof that the guys did a very good job. The thing I am maybe most intrigued with are the lyrics. They definitely can carry the title ‘blasphemous’. Written very personally and with intellect they bring into collision morals of ancient Slavic Gods and hypocrite Christian mentality, and on the other side, they cast light onto the dark inner world of some of the MR members. It’s always a pleasure to have a good Metal album accompanied with intelligent lyrics, as it doesn’t happen nearly often enough. I just hope the band will have no problems because they originate from a very religiously conservative and orthodox country. The production is finally on the highest level; I thought I would never witness that in Serbia. And, for the end, there’s 16-page booklet, great looking, with each member’s photo, lyrics (written using ancient Veleses cyrillic script!) and all other info there is. Definitely worth checking out!
