REVIEW: Megadeth - Peace sells...but whos buying? Capitol Records, 1986
9.5/10
Megadeth - Peace sells...but whos buying? - cover art This second release from the speed metal band Megadeth sounds very much like their first album but this one is at least a little longer - about 36 minutes compared to only 28 on their debut album. Half of Megadeth consists of the extremely fast melodic music and the other half is the great vocals done by Dave Mustaine - one of the best and most unique vocalists on the metal scene. Megadeth has improved a little from their first release but still this one is too short to earn a 10 out of 10 which would have been an obvious choice otherwise. The lyrics on this album you can't really say much about. They are weird and twisted stories about infedelity, sadistic violence, murder, gambling with death and sorcery - in short something you should keep away from your younger children. However, this is a great album with fast, aggressive music and great vocals. If you think Metallica is too heavy and too slow then Megadeth might be your alternative to choose although it's still very metal.
