REVIEW: Mercyful Fate - Time Metal Blade Records, 1994
9/10
Mercyful Fate - Time - cover art "Time" is one of the best Mercyful Fate releases in the 90's and it contains some of the best songs the band has written so far like "Angel Of Life" and "The Afterlife". With the highly skilled King Diamond doing the vocals on every single album you can expect some amazing choruses that can never be heard from any other band (except for King Diamond that is of course). King Diamond does also play keyboards and harpsichord on this record and he has also produced the recording together with Tim Kimsey, assisted by the guitarist of the band, Hank Shermann. Bands like Mercyful Fate who continue to make one amazing album after the other are very rare these days but we should all be glad that they even exist. This is perhaps not the best release from the band so far but it´s still very good music. Some people could find the high-pitched voice to be a bit annoying but King Diamond is still an amazing personality. He certainly means a lot to Mercyful Fate, that´s for sure.
