This albuns starts with the narrator warning : " Don't you dare to rewrite genesis...or you'll become a demon of insanity...".
Well, I don't know about rewriting genesis, but I do know that Metalium should rewrite something on their band.
Really, this is their fifth album, and they don't bring nothing new to Power Metal. Their previous release, "As One – Chapter Four" was an interesting album, but I'm afraid I can't say the same thing about "Demons Of Insanity – Chapter Five". Here, unoriginality reigns. Metalium are clearly influenced by European Power Metal (like Helloween and Hammerfall) and they're heavily influenced by Hard Rock stuff too... And that is just one of the problems of the album... the Hard Rock influences.
Especially the guitar work, it should be "metalized", there is just too much hard rock in it. The guitar riffs are very generic (but some of the guitar solos are quite good), and sound similar to 86954040666 power metal bands out there. The drum work is acceptable, the drums sound powerful, together with the bass.
The bass is cool, it is very audible, and that is always a good thing.
The vocal performance of the vocalist Henning Basse is acceptable too. He has a good voice, but sometimes the vocals are kind of ....... annoying. The keyboards here are played by the Deep Purple keyboardist, Don Airey, and they're acceptable too. The production of the album is very good, the sound quality is awesome. It is one of the pros of the album. Pros: Production; Bass; Some Guitar Solos. Cons: rhythm guitar; song structures. Standout tracks: "Cyber Horizon", "Power of Time".
