Michael Schenker is undoubtedly one of the
most famous guitar heroes in the world and apart from this he has also been
extremely productive in his long career. Now he is back again with yet another
album which contains eleven tracks of purely instrumental acoustic guitar
melodies. The classical guitar is one of the most beautiful instruments
together with violins and piano if I am to cast my votes. This is only when it
is done well though and luckily Michael Schenker sure knows how to do it well.
Those of you who know that you are rather narrow-minded in your musical taste
might want to stay away from this album (as if I needed to tell you that...)
but if you're an open-minded fan of metal, jazz or rock music in general I
think you will come to love this album as much as I do. There is not really
much of speed in these tracks but there is an incredible amount of beautiful
melodies as you very rarely hear today. This is a man who have found his niche
in the musical business and he intends to keep it his own. You should perhaps
not put this record on at a party unless you want everyone to leave but it
fits perfectly as background music or perhaps just for relaxing a while. The
latter I don't seem to find the time for anymore
though...
