REVIEW: Mincing Fury And Guttural Clamour - Lamentations Bizarre Leprous Production, 2002
7/10
Mincing Fury And Guttural Clamour
 - Lamentations - cover art I don't think I have ever heard of a band with such a long name... Of course this is a grind / gore release and a very bizarre one to say the least. The band (I actually thought of writing their name several times to make the review seem longer...) hails from the Czech Republic, home of many extreme death / grind bands who for some reason often also are of high quality. These guys, who are also behind the Antitrend Zine, are no exceptions. Their brand of grind is weird and twisted just as it should be with gurgling vocals, relentless grinding guitars and a drummer who knows how to blast away. There are also some nice, groovy atmospheric passages and a few additional samples. The intro of "Sexual Spasm" actually sounds very much as if it was taken from some cheap porno movie. Where many other grind bands fail these guys actually manage to maintain a certain diversity and a high level of variety throughout the whole album which makes them very enjoyable. There is not much original about them that hasn't been done before but the production is clean and professional, the music is well executed, the vocals are beyond complaint and the lyrics are as sick as they should be. If you are a fan of the genre you couldn't go wrong with this one.
