Finland is one of the most productive countries when it comes to metal bands figures, and even more significantly if we take into account the fact only 5 million inhabitants tread Finnish soil. Nevertheless, as any person endowed with a couple of neurones will grasp, quantity doesn´t mean quality and Suomi is the perfect example of that. Mirzadeh... Who are they? Well, their style flies around a more or less synth-driven gothic metal with easy melodies, blacky singing, cozy guitar lines and other similar beauties. This is their second full-length and if the next ones are planned to go in the same direction they could better leave the instruments aside and dedicate their existence to other endeavours. The elements are seen thousand times before and the limited spectrum makes the definition easier. Yes, there´s no much more than what I wrote some lines above: plain and aggressive music with raspy vocals, simple guitars playing easy note sequences halfway between gothic metal patterns and mid-paced dark metal... The synths command the troops and the melodies are seldom worthy. Everything is so typical, so dull, so uninteresting... “The Creatures Of Loviatar” comes embodied in a quite clean sound, just like Finnish bands usually do. The low degree of inspiration and uniqueness is evident in the weak songmaking and it seems the lyrics deal with ancient homeland lore, something which sounds certainly more interesting than the music, but since I couldn´t get the lyrics from the promo stuff nor the website let´s provide these guys with the benefit of the doubt about their lyrical work. Maybe that´s their strongest effort... Mirzadeh can´t surpass the average level most of the bands nowadays exhibit.
