REVIEW: Mortal Intention - Sic Luceat Lux Christhunt Productions, 2002
6.5/10
Mortal Intention - Sic Luceat Lux - cover art The title of this album made me hope for something interesting but I wasn't as positively surprised as I had hoped to be. This German band was formed back in the beginning of 1996 and after a number of mandatory line-up changes, two demos and one self-financed album they have now been able to release their first official album through the German underground label Christhunt Productions. Mortal Intention perform a brutal mix of black and death metal which is at times very interesting such as the nice groovy fourth track "Welk". I would say that the black metal influences have taken the upper hand of this band which I think suits them very well because there are some very nice melodies and symhonic overtones on this album that will appeal to many fans of extreme underground metal. The problem is that an album has to sound good all the way through to the final track which is not the case this time. Mortal Intention might want to write their lyrics in English next time as well since not everyone understands German. Stand-out tracks: "Welk", "Menschen Tod - Neuschöpfung".
