I have always held the enigmatic character known as Mortiis as one of the relatively few truely unique artists in the modern music scene regardless of genre definitions. His impact on the alternative club scene has been immense and this is further solidified through the release of this album which is not a brand new Mortiis album in the true sense. Instead it is made up of no less than 16 remixed versions of the songs from his most recent product "The Grudge" (yes, it has indeed been quite a while since then but the one who waits for something good...), courtesy of respected dark music artists such as The Kovenant, Velvet Acid Christ, Funker Vogt and upcoming Norwegians Gothminister. Fellow countryman Stephan Groth of Apoptygma Berzerk is also featured on a couple of the tracks. In general I would say that the songs have been slightly synthified, removing some of the harsh industrial edge that characterized "The Grudge", thus rendering them more club (and possibly radio although it might be stretching the truth a bit too far) friendly. This is by no means meant as a negative remark. In fact most of the artists have managed to add a new dimension to the original versions. An interesting idea that turned out to become a successful final product.
