What I got is not actually the entire debut CD for this Estonian band since this promo version has only four out of eight songs featured on the album. Still, I guess it is enough to form an opinion about their material. The music is floating somewhere around terms of Death, Doom and Black Metal since it is slow with a certain atmosphere characteristic for Doom but the sound is Black as well; vocals are and then, guitars remind me mostly on how Death Metal is used to be played. So, one hardly can draw a precise line and tell exactly what this material is since it is all in specific stylish interaction. On the other hand, if telling what style this is turns out to be hard, telling whether this is original or not is not so hard. It is not original. I think I have heard this kind of guitar riffs for the first time some ten or more years ago and then very often again and again. Very simple, mid tempo to fast ones. No more complicated than the usual early punk (just complexity vise, this is pure metal) 3 riffs songs. Sometimes I even wondered if the guitarist is moving his left arm at all, every riff has a similar sound. So, that is a thing I don't want to waste my time at. I could say that guitars are the worst instrument on this material. Drums are somewhat better, although they need to provide only basics for melodies, so they are pretty simple too, but they sound promising. Then, vocals also sound interesting, but it also fits in the overall mediocrity of release. Song structures are very predictable, mid speed, then faster part, then slow one, then mid, etc. I really would like to give a chance to every band, but these guys will need a lot of improvement in order to claim they contribute to the strength of the scene.
