REVIEW: My Minds Mine - Scenes Of The Complete Annihilation Of This Planet Amenta Records, 2002
6/10
My Minds Mine - Scenes Of The Complete Annihilation Of This Planet - cover art My Minds Mine is a Dutch band that has been grinding extremely fast noise since they started out in 1995 and they are not going to slow down even now. If you manage to squeeze in 24 tracks in twenty minutes you may realize that this is as fast as music gets but if you're a fan of grindcore you are probably not too impressed with this. To tell you the truth I have never been a big fan of grindcore or hardcore but I was mighty impressed when I heard the latest album from Pig Destroyer. While Pig Destroyer is more complex and varied My Minds Mine are doing their best to rage through these twenty minutes in mach speed. This is straight-forward brainmoshing grindcore made for those of you who like speed and noise above all. The vocals are often deep down in the mix and it is completely impossible to hear one single word being sung but apparently their lyrics deal with the stupidity of mankind and the way we treat the planet and each other. My Minds Mine may be very good at playing fast and brutal but they fail to impress me with their twenty minutes of high speed audial assault.
