REVIEW: Nachtfalke - Doomed To Die Christhunt Productions, 2002
3.5/10
Nachtfalke - Doomed To Die - cover art I will not spend much time on this. It is degrading enough that I listened through this album more than one time, just to be sure. And the verdict is that this is crap. It sounds like a happy viking version of Darkthrone, but still worse, and there is not much of a black metal feeling in this at all. I truly recommend people to stay away from this, if you are not a fan of ”old-school happy viking black metal” with an extremely crappy production. At a few points one sees a little talent however, and perhaps this can grow into something in the future, but right now this is not even close to what I expect from an album. And this is not a demo tape. There are also clean vocals on one of the tunes, which also happens to be a Bathory-cover (“Home of once brave”, here called “One home of once brave” for some probably stupid reason). The result is horrendous, and Quorthon is probably turning in his tomb (unless he was cremated that is). I guess there are some old-school viking-style underground black metallers who might enjoy this, but my opinion is that this is far from Norwegian quality and that this cheezy crap should have stayed in Germany.
