Doom metal usually means complex structures, tricky arrangements and refined patterns; however Ukrainian band Necrotic Trust take a twist and perform another brand of depressive music. With early Paradise Lost, some My Dying Bride and even Monumentum traces, this underground re-release [oriinally from 2005] refreshes the traditional doom archetype with their short songs, sometimes leaning towards catchy moods, straight sound and light hearted keys. Vocals are the Christian Death-Tom G. Warrior-UK classic doom kind, they may become annoying after a while but luckily they don't drown in long tracks and this is utterly positive, fitting in the simple structures. All in all Dry Our Fears is quite a listenable album and that's something pretty rare nowadays. Emotionally dwelling, musically minimalistic but at the same time entertaining, Necrotic Trust is one of those bands that must not be forgotten; simplicity is quite often the best way to achieve results and get to the core of feelings; well, these guys made it with this their [only] album, fortunately revisited by Bad Moon Man Music [in 2007]. Some tracks are radio-fashionable if you ask, but [there's] no cheesy stuff here, though. Competent doom metal, certainly enjoyable by a wide range of people.
