I know of this band for a long time, but this is the first material I am listening from them. I can’t say with certainty what I was expecting, but this modern and fresh sound came as a positive surprise. And when I say modern I am referring to how nicely they combine traditional elements from bands like Death and various Thrash influences with modern approach to song structuring and sound engineering.
Album has nine songs in total and poses as a very aggressive piece from the beginning to the end, without any break, or pauses. It’s all just straight in the head Death Metal with, as I said, some Thrash influences (bands like Vio-lence and Forbidden first come to my mind) and few samplings and back-set keyboards here and there, adding a pinch of industrial vibe to the whole thing. Similarities with Death, from their ‘Human’ and ‘Individual…’ albums, are very visible at some moments, mostly in guitar riffs, but it’s nothing bad, since I can’t notice any actual thievery. What I also find interesting is strong and harsh voice, somewhere in between of growl and shrieking, it goes very well with music. So, in general this is a good thing if you are looking for something to bang your head to and it also has some melodic moments, without loosing touch with brutality; cool, ha?
Other elements of the release are also noteworthy: production is powerful and clear from Sound Division studios. Booklet is also very nice, containing smart-looking lyrics that wrap-up everything on a very high level. I think all lovers of Death/Thrash sound should get this.
