REVIEW: Ninja Magic - Catchy As Ninja,Catchy As The Night Self-financed, 2005
5.5/10
Ninja Magic - Catchy As Ninja,Catchy As The Night - cover art Well, if you're reading this review, you probably got curious bacause of the band's name. Yes, Ninja Magic. Very strange nomme for a band, I agree... About this release... What we've got here is a strange fusion of punk rock and power metal, or "true epic ninja heavy metal" as the band members would prefer their music to be described as. As you can imagine, the lyrics are all about ninja stuff. Ninja swords, ninja powers, ninja girls... The instrumental side of this demo is surprisingly positive. Yeah, the guitars are OK, but while they are are OK, the vocal performance of Kawasaké Yamamoto is very bad. I mean, the guy actually tries do sing (yeah, only tries, 'cause he can't do it properly, unfortunately), but he's a better ninja killer than a singer, I think. If you still want to check them out go to their website and download a song. I recommend "Heartbreak Ninja" their ninja ballad.
